Anemia is a blood disorder, characterized by a lack of red blood cells or hemoglobin. Symptoms of anemia include shortness of breath, fatigue, and a pale complexion. Persons with signs of anemia should seek urgent care, as untreated anemia can lead to serious medial complications, including heart attacks.

At Urgent Care LA, our doctors will diagnose anemia by reviewing your medial history, conducting a physical examination, and testing your blood. Your blood will be analyzed for the number of red blood cells, amount of hemoglobin, and the size and shape of the red blood cells.

Your Urgent Care LA doctor will determine the proper course of treatment for your anemia, which may include medication to help your bone marrow produce more red blood cells, vitamin and mineral supplements, a change in diet, or (in severe cases only) a blood transfusion.

This is not a substitute for a professional, on-site medical diagnosis. Visit your doctor or other healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis of your condition.
